- Shincheonji has been sued by the small business owners of the city of Daegu for providing the cause of the spread of Covid-19 in Daegu. As a result, some analysts say the blood plasma donation is an attempt to ease the worsening public opinion on Shincheonji and restore the least of its honor.
- The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) made a promise and installed three blood donation cars in front of Kyungpook National University Hospital for five days in cooperation with the Red Cross to extract blood plasma from 500 congregation members of Shincheonji who have been completely cured from the coronavirus.
Daegu, South Korea—29 September 2020: In their urgent press release to TND News, The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) says: “We want to inform you of the oppression of human rights, peace, and religion that is currently happening in South Korea and is urgently requesting an SOS.”
It adds: “As you are well aware, the world is currently suffering from the Covid-19 virus. Loved ones have to say goodbye and every family in every country is facing great difficulties.”
In this current situation, the group says 4,000 members who were once infected with Covid-19 are now cured.
These were members of “Shincheonji Church of Jesus” and “Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light” (HWPL) which are both headquartered in Korea donated their plasma for the development of a vaccine.
“This is being done with the aim of developing a vaccine for Covid-19 within the year. HWPL is an international peace organization that has been working together with IWPG on “Peace Tours” for the “Realization of World Peace and Cessation of War”. HWPL’s Chairman and members made this difficult decision to donate their plasma to free humanity from the suffering of Covid-19, and are still putting effort to this day in order to do so,” the statement further reads.
However, IWPG reveals that the government of South Korea was blind in seizing power and became one with the Christian Council of Korea (CCK) to cancel the registration of HWPL, an international peace group. Their reason is because the Chairman of HWPL, who is also the Chairman of “Shincheonji Church Jesus” is not a member of CCK.
“Shincheonji Church of Jesus” refuses to be a part of CCK because it comprises pastors who, historically, during the time of Japanese imperialism, took the bell of a Church to give to the Japanese government and practiced shrine worship to the imperial Japanese god. The number of crimes among pastors belonging to CCK, a council with such shameful history, is currently over 12,000 and includes sexual crimes and embezzlement of money. This can only be regarded as a fraudulent group that is pretending to be a religious group.”
The government of South Korea is conscious of the votes of CCK members and so has united with the pastors of CCK to help their unrighteous work and oppress “Shincheonji Church of Jesus” and HWPL.
In February this year, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea said that: “It is of importance and is the fundamental solution for citizens to release their excessive anxiety and actively partake in promoting economic and consumer activities rather than government support.”
He emphasized that citizens should return to their daily routines. The members of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus followed the words of the President and returned to living their daily lives.
In January, more than 5,000 people were infected in the Shincheonji Church of Jesus located in Daegu, a city where many Chinese people visited prior. This is obviously due to the government’s initial failure of quarantine, and it is clear that Shincheonji Church of Jesus are victims. However, the government of South Korea is blaming and putting the responsibility on to the Church members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
“The media in Korea was used to report, as if the members of Shincheonji were the ones to spread the virus. They made false and exaggerated reports and even arrested 5 church officials,” statement says. These actions led to religious persecution of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, eventually killing two women.
“Can we say that there is freedom of human rights and freedom of religion in Korea, which is supposed to stand for liberal democracy? We want to prevent further oppression of human rights, peace and religion by spreading news of the facts that this is occurring in Korea.”
The IWPG asks President Moon Jae-in and politicians of South Korea to stop the oppression of human rights, peace and religion that is currently happening in Korea.
In order for the Korean government to stop the oppression of religion, human rights and peace, we ask for a letter to be sent to the President and government of South Korea through the following e-mail addresses:
