Iga Swiatek, the six-time Grand Slam champion and world number three from Poland, has spoken about her upcoming fourth-round clash with four-time major winner Naomi Osaka of Japan at the WTA-1000 event in Rome, Italy.

“Naomi is a great player. We’ve faced each other many times, including a very tough match at Roland Garros two years ago. I know what she can produce and how well she plays when she feels the ball. So I’ll be ready. I’ll prepare tactically and stay alert,” Swiatek said in an on-court interview.
The head-to-head record between Swiatek and Osaka is 2-1 in favor of the Polish star. Swiatek defeated Osaka in the final of Miami 2022 and in the second round of Roland Garros 2024. Osaka’s only victory came in the third round in Toronto 2019.
