Amama’s ex aid released on Court bail


Out on Court bail: Mike Adoko.

Former John Patrick Amama Mbabazi aid in Lira district and a renowned local political pundit, a radio caller has been released on Court bail.

On Monday, Adoko, charged with defamation was produced before Lira Grade One Magistrate Simon Peter Odoo who remanded him until 21 June, 2018.

However, well wishers and fellow radio callers fought for him, a fight that soon prompted the same Magistrate’s Court to grant him a cash bail of shs. 200, 000. His case was adjourned to 29 June, 2018.

Last week, Adoko handed himself to Lira Central Police Station after he was summoned to answer his allegation against regional Police commander.

He accused North Kyoga regional police chief, RPC John Peter Ematu, alleging that Ematu has a fine working relation with criminals in Lango sub region.

In 2016 elections, Adoko campaigned vigorously for former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, one of the Presidential contenders.

Speaking after his release, Adoko says he has overwhelming evidence to pin RPC Ematu for promoting crimes.
