China Ningbo No.1 has a strong connection with the Shanghai Cruise Port International Sailing Regatta. In 2019, the team participated in the inaugural edition held in the Yangtze River waters and finished as runners-up with outstanding teamwork and consistent performance. In 2021, they returned to compete again, overcoming heavy rain and rapidly changing wind conditions with flexible tactics to stage a remarkable comeback on the final day, claiming the championship. In 2026, the team assembled once more for their third challenge at the event.
On the first race day, China Ningbo No.1 advanced to the final as second in their group. The real test came on the final day, where they faced a tough battle from the very first leg. The team encountered equipment issues and penalties across four races: the furler on the headsail malfunctioned, affecting both starting and downwind legs. In the second race, while holding right of way, they had to give way to other boats several times, losing significant distance. In the third race, just as they opened their starting line, they were penalized with a one-turn penalty, leaving them to start last after completing the penalty. Despite these challenges, they managed to secure second place overall.
