Museveni appoints Alupo VP, Dr Aceng retains health. Full list inside



The appointment of Hon. Jessica Alupo, the Katakwi Woman MP, and the former Education Minister as Vice President has shocked some Ugandans. Some expected the president to name either Rebecca Kadaga or Justine Kasule Lumumba.

Kampala – 8, June 2021: President Museveni on Tuesday night named new cabinet to help him run his 6th term as president until 2026. Gen Museveni, in power since 1986, was reelected on 14, January 2021 disputed elections in which his main challenger, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine came second.

It would take Museveni nearly three months to appoint new ministers. During his recent addresses to the country, Museveni said this new “kisanja” (term of office) – “socioeconomic transformation” of Ugandans is his prime agenda.

And to achieve his dream, he needed to choose his ministers and senior advisors from those who can deliver. On Tuesday night, the long-wait was over. Below are names and offices new cabinet and state ministers will occupy until he wishes to change it.
