Ugandans demand an apology from Yoweri Museveni for this abuse of the Constitution and should he opt to ignore this call, history shall judge him harshly.

Lira—7, June 2021: Sadly, the world has been treated to yet another comedy in the name of the State of Nation Address by President Museveni.

Ugandan should know that the Nation Address is a constitutional requirement as provided for in Article 101(I) of the Constitution Uganda.

President Museveni unfortunately treated this important constitutional requirement as a day to show the world how he has continued to brutalize the social, economic and political fabrics of Uganda.

It is sad indeed to note that this kind of mindset of Mr. Museveni will never address the challenges affecting the economy today.

Situation has been getting worse and worse with the current wave of Coronavirus pandemic.

I call upon all Ugandans to stay safe while observing the Standard Operating Procedures of Covid-19 as we wait to see and witness Mr. Museveni’s project to exploit Uganda, through the release of the cabinet list and subsequent reading of the national budget for fiscal 2021/2022.

Reading from the so-called National Address, where does the future of the Uganda farmers lie considering the Maputo Declaration 2003? Does it have to take 36 years for this brutal regime to realize that a policy intervention on agriculture as a key backbone of the economy is essential?

What Mr. Museveni knows and understands is running a corrupt government with no mindset to improve the social economic livelihoods of its citizens.

With the withdrawal of foreign aids by the development partners and stain relationships Mr. Museveni has created with developed countries who have for long supported the economy, Ugandans should brace for the worst in the next five years.

The announcement by Museveni that Uganda can only be led by children of the rich is not only regrettable, but an insult to the citizen of Uganda because the few rich Ugandans are Museveni allies who are encouraged by Museveni to loot the resource of Ugandans.

Ugandans demand an apology from Yoweri Museveni for this abuse of the Constitution and should he opt to ignore this call, history shall judge him harshly.
