Seoul, North Korea – 26, May 2021: The International Women’s Peace Group(IWPG, Chairwoman Hyun Sook Yoon) participated the ‘8th Anniversary of the Declaration of World Peace’—which is held every May 25th in Seoul, Korea—to urge support and solidarity of the “Citizen-Led Peace-building Initiative for Global Coexistence and Harmony through International Networks”.

The event was held jointly by Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman ManHee Lee)—an organization in consultative status with UN ECOSOC—the International Women’s Peace Group(IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group(IPYG). Due to COVID-19, thecommemoration was held as an online event in Korea (KST) with attendance by more than 3000 people from 150countries around the world.

The “Declaration of World Peace” was first proclaimed on May 25, 2013. On the day of proclamation, a Peace Walk with 30,000 citizens spread throughout different countries and continents, becoming a symbol of an international peace movement led by citizens. Eight years ago, HWPL proclaimed the “Declaration of World Peace,” suggesting effective and actionable measures that can be established by all everyone in the world for the cessation of war and peace.

This ceremony was prepared as a place to overcome difficulties, such as hatred, conflict, misunderstanding, and disconnection of communication, faced by the world during this COVID-19 pandemic. It was also a time to discuss citizen-led mutual cooperation measures for coexistence and harmony among citizens of the world.

Chairwoman Hyun Sook Yoon of IWPG said in a commemorative address, “HWPL has devised and implemented a real peace road-map starting with the ‘Declaration of World Peace’ on May 25, 2013.” “The DPCW (10 articles and 38 clauses of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) has the fundamental answer for the realization for world peace,” she said as she urged for active support and participation.

That is why the title of cessation of war and peace is with HWPL”, he expressed.

General Manager Peter Jung of IPYG introduced a new wave of Legislate Peace (LP) activities, which are peace activities that citizens around the world are participating in to realize DPCW, through the Peace Initiative Report.
