The management of Edwin Foundation Tea Initiative (EFOTI) – a private company dealing in tea research, nursery bed establishment, estate management, value addition, training, among others is announcing the launch of “Tea for prosperity and job creation” program. The program will see 10,000,000 tea seedlings raised in 2,000 acres of land.

EFOTI believes that farmers across Acholi sub-region, including West Nile will be able to have enough tea seedlings to meet the [their] current demands.

The launch comes at a right time when government is finalizing plans to establish a tea factory in the region. This will create jobs for the region, and country in general.

The event will take place on Friday 28, May 2021 at Gulu University’s Faculty of Agriculture – starting at 8:30am to 2:00pm.

Guest of Honor is expected to be Gen. Salim Saleh who’s the National Coordinator, Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

Senior officials from NAADs and Office of the Prime Minister – Minister of State for Northern Uganda, Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny are expected.

Gulu University Vice-Chancellor, Prof George Ladaah Openjuru and his entire staff are hereby informed.

This announcement is also extended to Ker Kwaro Acholi, Alur Kingdom, Zombo and Gulu Districts Local Governments, Prime SACCO, Zombo Tea Cooperative Society Ltd members, Lugore Prisons, 4th Division Army Barrack in Gulu, and the entire people of Northern Uganda.
