Police faults power distributor for failing businesses in Dokolo district

“The inconsistent power supply in Dokolo town has affected the smooth running of businesses and ‘brewing insecurity'”, OC station says.

Dokolo – 6, May 2021: Nelson Odongo, the O/C station at Dokolo Central Police Station has faulted power distributors for the power blackouts.

Late last month, there was one week of power blackout without clear explanation to the public.

Odongo says that the inconsistent power supply in Dokolo town has affected the smooth running of businesses, adding that it was “brewing insecurity”.

He adds that businesses like welding, juice making, among others were much affected, and further stating, “this is threat to development”.

He said this while meeting drivers and loaders under their association to harmonize how to end street parking and loading passengers along Dokolo roads.

The chairperson business community for Kaberamaido district, John Ecelu also faulted power distributors for the power blackout. He says it is increasing theft in the district.

His statement came after unknown people broke into the electronic shop belonging to the district Speaker of Kaberamaido and made away with merchandises worth over Uganda 20 million.
