Kampala—6, February 2021: The former presidential candidate and the National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has accused the regime of trying to hack their social media pages.
Bobi Wine lost the 14 January presidential election to incumbent NRM candidate and incumbent Youweri Kaguta T. Museveni. The latter was declared winner with 58.6% and Bobi Wine got 34.8% according to the electoral commission (EC) chairman Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi.
Mr Kyagulanyi, who after casting his votes was put under house arrest for more than seven days, has protested the election. Through his lawyers, he has dragged Museveni, Attorney General and EC to the Supreme Court.
Using his Twitter handle Friday, the outgoing Kyandondo East MP, Mr Kyagulanyi posted: “The attack now is on our social media pages. Regime operatives have hacked and made attempts to hack all of them. Currently, our official Facebook and twitter pages are compromised. As we try to regain full control of them, please disregard any propaganda that may be posted there.”
