Lira—28, November 2020: The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) in conjunction with National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda will dedicate Lira City in the hands of God.

The dedication will take place on Sunday 29, 11 2020 at Mayor’s Garden, Lira City.

According to Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello, the Chairperson National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches in Uganda, Lira City needs to be dedicated to God for “blessings and protection”.

Bishop Tom added that even though the “City has security officers to protect people, there is also a need to call upon God’s protection in this City”.

While addressing journalists at his office on Friday, 27 November 2020, he added that Lira City will be dedicated to God on Sunday on 29, 11-2020 (tomorrow).

“God revealed to me the Lira City status five (5) years ago, and this prayer will be a thanksgiving to God for fulfilling his promise for the Lango people,” he said.

The prayer will also cleanse the land from darkness, clergy told journalists.

Rev. Martin Ogwal of Faith Mission and a member of IRCU, said that dedicating the City to God will bear good fruits for the land, and urged people to join hands for this kind of prayer.

This prayer will take two days from 28 to 29 November 2020 with different leaders in Lango like the Resident District Commissioners, Members of Parliament, Traditional leaders and Chief Administrative Officer, among others invited to attend.

Sunday 29 November 2020 will be “a big day for the City residents” as they dedicate Lira city to God.
