Lira businessman wanted over firearm’s trade

Lira – 27 October 2020: A businessman in Lira City is on the run over the allegation of illegal possession on guns.

According to the report, Andrew Agena who deals in motorcycle spares on Ayer road, Lira City took off when he noticed that the security was looking for him. 

Speaking to our reporter, RDC of Lira, Milton Odongo said they got information about the illegal possession of fire arms by Andrew Agena a day before the operation.

According to Mr Odongo, two guns which include one AK47 and a pistol where recovered during the operation.

He added that intel reached their attention that the said businessman is in possession of six (6) firearms which mean 4 is still missing.

He added that there is allegation that Agena is a gun seller which the security team is still investigating.

Two of Mr Agena’s associates are still under police custody to help in the investigation.

RDC urged the public to report Andrew Agena to the security in case they have seen him.
