Let the blackmailers and propagandists continue as we serve and lead our people with humility – Lilly Adong.

Nwoya—7 October 2020: The Nwoya district Woman Member of Parliament Hon Lilly Adong has refuted the allegations she has defected from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party to National Unity Platform (NUP) and People Power Movement.

Responding to the information circulating on different social media platforms for the last two weeks, claiming she has joined Bobi Wine, the Woman MP rubbished the claim, calling it “false news and propaganda”.

Her message reads – verbatim:

I want to assure my friends and supporters that l have not crossed to any political party. It is my opponent and the team sponsoring the propaganda and blackmail.

They even made flyers with my photo with NUP logo and distributed it at night. They did their witchcraft on my photo for which Nwoya people witnessed.

They want state operatives which my opponent’s husband is one of them to start harassing me. For which they have started dropping letters at my agents home threatening to burn them down if they continue supporting me, since to them l have joined NUP, or Peoples power. Two cases have already been registered at police.

I am not so cheap that my crossing to another party is announced by my opponent but not on national television.

I have decided to accept the calls by Nwoya people who picked for me the nomination papers to stand as Independent candidate due to injustices and undemocratic sham elections organized by the National Resistance Movement party.

The irregularities were not only confined to Nwoya District but also countrywide, but thank God no one lost any life in Nwoya district.

I request my friends and supporters to remain calm as we arrange for my nomination on the 12th October 2020 as an Independent Candidate with Radio as my symbol.

Let the blackmailers and propagandists continue as we serve and lead our people with humility.
