Lira—3, September 2020: The Lango Association of North America (LAONA) is pleased to introduce the Lango Directory (Dairektori)—a platform for business listings and for sharing information on community events in the Lango sub-region.

“The world is changing so rapidly that the Lango sub-region must embrace these changes if it is to flourish. Two things that will definitely change the way business is conducted in the Lango sub-region,” a statement issued by LAONA reads.

The two things the LAONA is looking at are;

One, Covid-19. “The pandemic has changed the way business is conducted. We know for sure that having an online presence currently is paramount. We also know that the cost of having an online presence is prohibitive to our business community. A Directory is therefore the easiest way for our business community to establish an online presence free of charge.”

Two, the City Status. Lira is now a City! We need to look, live, and do business as a City. Progressive cities have business directories that guide citizens, visitors, and investors on how to navigate the city. The Lango Directory will guide people on how to navigate the sub-region!

“The Directory also puts the Lango sub-region on a global platform where information must always be on your fingertips. Anyone from any part of the world will be able to know what is happening in Lango and will know how to connect and/or interact with our businesspeople!”

LAONA reveals it’s also making the directory a platform for exchanging community information, adding that while there are several social media groups that share community information, one has to be a member of such a group to access the information.

“The Lango Directory will be our community space to share information on Job opportunities, Tenders and community announcements, free of charge.”

“The Directory would not be complete without your input and is now ready to accept input from the business community and from anyone who has relevant information to share. Here is how to contribute. Please send us information as outlined below:”

Business Name, Business description, physical address if available, and phone contact

Announcements

Title of the announcement, details of the announcement including dates and location where applicable

Events

There will be limited opportunities for businesses to advertise on the Directory.
