Kisoro—26, August 2020: The Kisoro district Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Secretary Mr Ruzaza Christopher has Wednesday, 26 August 2020 left the party.

The former FDC leader says he will contest for the office of the LC5 Chairman on an independent ticket in the forthcoming elections.

He made the revelation on Wednesday during a press conference held at 3 Way Gorilla Camp Site in Kisoro Municipality.

Asked why he decided to quit FDC, a party he served for 10 years, Ruzaza noted that it was after considering peoples’ views whom he said convinced him to stand for the position of LC5 chairperson of Kisoro district on an independent ticket.

He said that leaders aligned to political parties end up serving the interests of their parties at the expense of voters.

According to Ruzaza, Uganda as a country is not yet ready to be governed under the political party system.

He attributes development stagnation in Kisoro district to endless wrangles among leaders, further accusing leaders of not guiding residents on hardworking and self-reliance.

This, he said, has resulted into famine as residents are spending most of their time chasing money for alcohol from politicians.

Ruzaza explained that his manifesto is based on unity, truth, hard work and equality for all.

Speaking to Kisoro FM on phone during an interview, the Kisoro district FDC party chairperson, Mr Mushakamba Vincent noted that FDC party is not a prison.

“There is a free entry and entry,” he added.

Mr Mushakamba, however, said that he hasn’t received confirmation from Christopher Ruzaza about his decision to leave FDC party.
