Apac—August 13, 2020: Moses Onapa Wawah is convinced he will win the Akokoro sub-county LC3 chairperson’s office come 2021 general elections.

Onapa Wawah tells TND News is an educationist with vast expertise in community mobilization and empowerment.

He has headed several schools both in Uganda and Rwanda. He has also worked as a community empowerment programme officer at Bright Generation Rwanda (BGR) an NGO that helped a lot of genocide survivors to get acquainted with skills for their survivals.

“I’m contesting simply because I see a big gap in the leadership of my sub-county,” he said.

He added: “My priority shall be lobbying for the youths to see new skills being imparted into them, hence creating better standards of living.”

Mr Wawah says his vision is to see an empowered youth that can independently survive, bridge the leadership gap and set a pace for all other leaders.

A UPC supporter, he chose to run as an independent aspirant in the coming elections because UPC showed signs of being “unfair”.

“I decided to run as an independent simply because some people in the party showed signs of being unfair, hence leaving me with no option other than running as an independent candidate,” he says.

Other aspirants in the race are: Mr Onapa Ambrozoli of the ruling NRM party and Mr Odongo Felix of UPC.
