Jinja—20, July 2020: With prolonged lockdown due to novel coronavirus pandemic in the country where men are ‘forced’ to spend every twilight with their wives at home, cases of domestic violence have increased.

In Jinja district, lockdown and domestic violence have culminated into a horrifying scene of senseless murder by spouses.

Residents of Bubiro Maweito, Buwenge in Jinja district on Sunday 19 July, woke up to the sad news when they learned that a housewife of one of their own had killed her husband the previous night.

This happened after “a simple domestic misunderstanding”—TND News’ correspondent, Fred Siminyu reports.

Another report this publication has got states that Fatuma Golola, 19, after some misunderstanding stubbed her husband Aramathan Golola, aged 25 in the neck.

She used a kitchen knife that killed him instantly.

Some residents say that the domestic misunderstandings between Golola and his wife have been going on for some time ever since Golola got another wife.

The area Gombolola Internal Security Officer (GISO) Baaka Faizo confirmed the incident and called upon married couples against resolving their domestic misunderstanding through violence.
