Dear People of Alebtong, Lango and Uganda at Large,
I was asked the other day that who had my support in the upcoming race for Alebtong district. With no hesitation, I told the man asking me that my vote would go to Madam Barbara Akech.
Madam Barbara was born and raised in Alebtong, she has made her life in Alebtong and raised her family there. She has been so much deeply engaged in various community mobilization and developmental activities.
In 2015 general elections, Barbara was selected by President Museveni to canvass for his votes alongside other national task-force team members, which job they did diligently.
Her political experience continued until the people of Alebtong spoke, asking Madam Barbara to take on the monumental task of running for Woman Member of Parliament.
She deserves every support and vote, too. Never have I met anyone who serves her community so tirelessly than her. Holidays find her not at home but serving in Churches; community functions among others.
I got to know Madam Barbara during the popular “Bazzukulu Project” that thwarted and neutralized the political threatening influence of Bobi Wine in Lango sub-region. As she stood beside me at the starting line, I almost did not recognize her.
She has represented her country, NRM and the people of Lango sub-region at different international conferences. The most recent one was her trip to China, alongside some NRM leaders—some of whom were from Lango.
I strongly encourage you to support and vote for Barbara Akech. Her strength will make the “Lone Star State” a force to be admired.
