
Uganda’s Ministry of Health on Sunday evening confirmed five new cases of coronavirus disease [COVID-19].
A day before [Saturday], the ministry also confirmed 11 new cases.
“Today, 10 May, 2020, 5 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,498 samples of truck drivers,” a statement from the ministry reveals.
The new cases are: Two Ugandan and 3 Kenyan truck drivers who arrived via Elegu and Malaba points of entry respectively.
All 341 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19, the ministry added.
Total samples tested on Sunday at Uganda Virus Research Institute were 1,839.
The country’s total confirmed cases is now at 121, with 55 recoveries and zero death.
