Breaking: Museveni’s challanger, Gen Tumukunde arrested



According to numerous reports, GEN HENRY TUMUKUNDE is to be arrested by CMI and senior Police detectives.

No clear information is available for his impending arrest. However, using his official Facebook page, Mr Tumukunde confirmed his arrested, saying “it won’t stop him”.

He tweeted before arrest.

Mr Tumukunde who was retired by President Museveni, has been Uganda’s Security Minister, before he and former IGP, Gen Kale Kayihura were fired.

Both pair were sacked by Museveni, nearly three years ago, after developing “unwanted issues” – sources told TND News after their sacking.

As a security minister, Gen Kayihura was under Gen Tumukunde but they couldn’t work, with sources, further saying it was few “inch to jeopardize entire security systems”.

Among 29 Presidential aspirants against Museveni in 2021 polls, Mr Tumukunde is one of them.

Recently, he has been making statements, saying he would be willing to work with “those interested” in removing Mr Museveni from power.

To him, President Museveni would be escorted to his village home in Rwakitura peacefully, once defeated next year in the polls.
