The Management of TND News – Northern Uganda’s first digital newspaper founded on 12, September 2012 would like to inform the general public, employers and job seekers that the publication will be running jobs placement vacancies twice a week – Monday and Friday.

EMPLOYER 1: Livingstone Junior Academy [LJA] is a Christian day care and nursery school that was opened on the 6th February 2017 to provide quality education while nurturing children to become God fearing, talented, purposeful leaders in the near future. The primary campus is poised to take off in in 2020 [this coming schooling term] with first cohorts from P.1 to P.4 only.

Brief information/duties and responsibilities.

  • Ahead of first term opening, LJA seeks to recruit teachers who shall be involved in the social, intellectual, spiritual and moral development of pupils in their classes, school and community
  • A typical working day will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Additional time outside of the standard working day is required for preparation of teaching materials and the marking of assignments submitted.
  • Prepare work scheme and lesson plans in line with the MoES approved curriculum on a termly and weekly basis respectively.
  • Conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set time table.
  • Participate in self-assessment and appraisal.

Minimum qualifications and professional experience.

  • Fresh graduates with minimum of excellent grade III teaching certificate from recognized institution
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience.

EMPLOYER 2: Uganda National Bureau of Standards [UNBS] is a parastatal body established by Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry. UNBS started operation in February 1989.

The role of UNBS is the formulation and promotion of the use of standards; enforcing standards in protection of the public health and safety and the environment against dangerous, counterfeit and substandard products; ensuring fairness in trade and precision in industry through reliable measurement systems; strengthening Uganda’s economy by enhancing competitiveness of local industries and promotion of quality exports through standardization, quality assurance, testing and metrology.
