Kampala – The Kyandondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine will be in Lira Town next week.
Mr. Wine, who has declared interest to contest for Presidency in the 2021 general polls, made the announcement on his social media account, Friday afternoon.
The announcement was also confirmed by People Power spokeperson, Joel Senyonyi, shortly after Wine’s announcement.
Below, he wrote:
“Comrades, we kick off our consultations next week! These past few days, we sent out teams to book venues in the seven districts where we intend to begin from, and deliver the relevant documents to the local authorities and the DPCs.
We shall begin on Monday next week from home in Kyadondo East, and then head to six districts in Northern Uganda. The specific districts of Northern Uganda are Gulu District (Tuesday 7th Jan), Lira District (Wednesday 8th Jan), Adjumani District (Thursday 9th Jan), Yumbe District (Friday 10th June), Arua District (Saturday 11th Jan), and Zombo District (Sunday 12th Jan). We intend to reach all corners of Uganda, and our hope is that security agencies will not seek to interfere with us.
We have deliberately complied with all the laws, including those we disagree with such as the Public Order Management Act. Today, I have further written to the IGP notifying him of the developments from the different districts and requested him to direct the police officers at different levels to comply with the law. #People_Power_Our_Power.
