With just hours remaining to the end of 2019, preparations are in high gear to welcome fresh year 2020. Ugandans, like other nations globally, are much prepared to enter the New Year with hopes and expectations.

From us at Great Lakes Centre for Strategic Media Studies and TND News, like you out there – we are extremely excited and we have all said good bye to the year 2019.

In the year ending at midnight, we were able to stride because of the support, contribution and partnership from some individuals and companies – both home, and globally.

Because thanking someone for what he or she has done is part of us, today, we are saying THANK YOU to the followings:

The Edwin Foundation Tea Initiative [EFOTI Ltd]

The foundation – through its director, Mr. Edwin Atukunda Beekunda – the man behind tea robust growth in northern Uganda gave all to both TND News and GLCSMS LLC.

With no formal memorandum of understanding signed, Mr. Atukunda and EFOTI Ltd supported “all our projects” – most notably, the 2nd Annual Media Conference 2019 held at All Saints University Lango.

“On behalf of entire TND News and GLCSMS LLC team, I would like to vehemently thank EFOTI Ltd and her Executive Director for extending overwhelming support to us. At some stage, we lacked but he came in swiftly and intervened. My pledge to him and all our partners is that we are committed to giving back and this will help us grow together,” Milton Emmy Akwam, founder and CEO of GLCSMS LLC and TND News says.

Horyal Investment Company Holdings Limited [Atiak Sugar]

We’re grateful to Dr. Amina Hersi Mohge who’s the Chief Executive Officer of Horyal Investment Company Holdings Limited, widely known as [Atiak Sugar Factory Limited]. Dr. Amina contributed generously towards the sponsorship of the 2nd Annual Media Conference 2019, held on October 23 in Lira Municipality – ASUL.

“She came at a time we didn’t have enough funds to have a successful media conference. She will forever be remembered as “Our 2019 Key Giver”. We are happy,” Mr. Akwam says.

SaiPali Institute of Management and Technology

SaiPali has been our advertiser and will partner with TND News in the coming year to take ICT training to northern Uganda.

We congratulate the Institute management, most importantly Director Mr. Amit Srivasatava for trusting us in 2019.

Radio QFM94.3

For nearly two years now, Lira top radio station has been our key media partner and our partnership goes beyond 2020. We are grateful to radio management, among them CEO Mr. Ken Okello, Human Resource Manager, Dr. Leslie Ojom Nek for choosing us.

We further commend the radio station for offering live coverage during the 2nd Annual Media Conference 2019. Our partnership will grow much stronger in the coming year.

Radio Wa 88.9FM

Like Radio QFM, Radio Wa partnered with us during the October Annual Media Convenience. “We are thankful for the free airtime you gave us in doing mobilisation ahead of the conference. Ms. Magdalene Kasusku – Radio Director, thank you,” says Frank Oyugi, Director In-charge Strategic Communications, GLCSMS LLC.

Bright & White (WNB) Uganda Limited

In 2019, we were privileged to have been joined by WNB Uganda Limited, the producer of body care cosmetics. The company produces; Tanyo Shea butter body lotion, Tanyo Shea butter body jelly, Tanyo Shea butter body oil, Tanyo Ghee Lotion, Tanyo Ghee Jelly, Tanyo Ghee Oil, Tanyo Shea butter bathing soap, Tanyo dish and Handwash, Tanyo Shower Gel and Tanyo Shea butter hair products.

APO Group

APO Group is the leading Pan-African Communications Consultancy and Press Release Distribution Service. It’s a media relations’ consulting firm and press release distribution service in Africa and the Middle East.

In May 2018, TND News, GLCSMS LLC and APO Group entered into a long term media agreement. The partnership has offered numerous media opportunities to the two companies.

All Saints University Lango – ASUL

Lango’s prestigious Church of Uganda funded university supported us wholeheartedly and hosted the October 2nd Annual Media Conference, a media event organised by GLCSMS LLC with support from other partners.

“Our commitment and promise to ASUL in the coming year and beyond is significant and we hope it will uplift its academic standard,” Mr. Milton Emmy Akwam says.

Friends of Goodwill – FoG

Towards the end of the year 2019, we partnered with FoG who was carrying out health activities in the district of Oyam. Through our partnership, TND News documented, published FoG’s activities to the global audience. The same partnership is expected to continue in the coming year.

Morris was one of our speakers who presented on “Quality Education” [SDG4] at the October Media Conference in Lira, Beatrice Akello who’s the Executive Director – Child Restoration Outreach, our panelist at the October Media Conference, ASP David Ongom Mudong – PRO North Kyoga Region [our panelist], Mr. Tom Kabos [our panelist] and Academic Registrar – All Saints University Lango, Dr. Andrew Anthony Cula [PhD] who’s the Vice Chancellor, ASUL, Prof. John Christopher Oloa who’s the Deputy VC ASUL, Assoc. Prof. Opio Okaka Dokotum, Deputy Vice Chancellor Lira University [our panelist at the 2nd Media Conference], and many others we can’t list their names.
