Wakiso – Uganda’s opposition Presidential aspirant since 2001 on Monday addressed the country from Kasangati based ‘State House’.
The event was termed end of year address by the People’s President – Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Besigye – whose government hosted hundreds of FDC members and those from other opposition political parties, urged the international community to join in the struggle.
President Museveni’s former physician, reveals that when international community comes in to support, Ugandans will enjoy their rights like the rest of the world.
“Our struggle for rights won’t be dependent on them. We will fight to free ourselves whether the international community joins us or not,” he told the gathering.
“We are going to cross to 2020 not only with action but with a surge of action. All we need to take action is in place, we have also made arrangements for our activists to be secured when they get into trouble,” FDC former party President added.
According to him, “this is a special moment for the country.”
During this year, if you stand in the way of our rights, we shall push you. It will be a push vs push until there is respect for every Ugandan – Besigye further says.
“I can’t sit down and others fight for me, I must stand and fight for my rights, I’m not fighting Museveni to get power for myself but I am fighting for all Ugandans to get back their rights and power.”
On Tuesday, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will also address the nation, delivering his 2020 message.
