Ministry of health commissioner dies in fatal accident

RIP: Sr. Petua Olobo.

Dokolo – The acting commissioner in charge nursing in the Ministry of Health Sr. Petua Olobo Kiboko has died.

She died in a fatal road accident on Sundat along Soroti-Lira highway.

The deceased and the other family members were travelling to Lira but their car lost control around a place called Pida in Dokolo town council, dokolo district and overturned several times.

According to eyewitness who spoke to our reporter, the family were traveling to Lira to enjoy the New Year’s celebration.

Police has identified other casualties as James Olobo a retired officer of Gulu clinical school and currently a lecturer at Jerusalem school of nursing in Lira; Polly John Epobu.

 One person only identified as Emmanuel all resident of Oyalem village Bululu sub-county, Kalaki district was admitted at Dokolo health Center VI and later referred to Lira regional referral hospital

Officer In-charge traffic in Dokolo district, Geoffry Akaka confirmed that the family members were using Super Custom Reg. No. UBD 312M.

In her tweet, Health Minister, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng sent her condolences to her dear family saying “it is untimely.”
