Protest expected in Kagadi district over recent cabinet reshuffle

Demo mobilizer: Mr. Akugizibwe Livingstone.

Kagadi – On 6, June 2016, President Museveni appointed Mrs Adrine Tibaleka as State Minister for Elderly and Disabled.

However, her appointment was rejected by the Parliamentary appointment committee.

Since then, some leaders claim the President has ignored them, by giving them few slots to their sons and daughters.

“We’ve been waiting all along for President to at least consider any capable person from Kagadi to take up the position since the slot was ours,” Livingstone Akugizibwe, a councilor for Ndaiga sub-county in Kagadi district tells TND News on Sunday.

He says Kakumiro district in the recent reshuffle has had two ministers, Kibaale taking up the Finance ministry.

“As people of Kagadi, we deserve our slot,” he added.

“If Adrine was rejected, President must know Kagadi has wealthy brains to take up the position. We are going to mobilize our people to demand our ministerial slot,” youthful leader, Akugizibwe further says.

As a district councillor representing Ndaiga sub-county, he tells our reporter he’s ready to mobilize fellow councillors and chairperson LC3s to demand “for our slot”.

Speaking with interest, he went on by demanding: “I hereby challenge Members of Parliament especially from Kagadi to stop advancing personal interests rather focus on fighting hard to regain our slot.”
