Alebtong, Napak – On Wednesday, the former Alebtong district Chief Administrative Officer was arrested.

Mbaagwe Muwonge Abdulnoor was picked from his current duty station, Napak district by team of detectives attached to State House Anti-Corruption Unit.

Sources who spoke to TND News say Mr Mbaagwe was arrested over alleged abuse of office and causing financial loss to government.

Earlier this year, the Anticorruption Court issued warrant of arrest for Abdulnoor, and finally he has been netted.

Previous allegation

In February 2018, the then RDC of Alebtong district, Andrew James Awany and some district councilors faulted Muwonge of inflating district budget for fiscal year 2017/2018 by over shillings 73 million.

The district had approved shillings 20,050,121,000.00 billion but was inflated, as alleged to shillings 20,123,145,000.00.
