Several of former UPDF soldiers as well as their close family members (relatives of the deceased soldiers) from West Nile district of Nebbi are to benefit from President Museveni’s generosity.

Team from Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs pitched Camp in the district identifying beneficiaries, sources say.

“The have just concluded a rigorous verification exercise to establish the true identity and authentic beneficiaries,” a source who doesn’t speaks for the army told TND News.

Ms. Rachel Francese Adyango, the Deputy RDC Nebbi who worked closely with the UPDF team says the exercise was very “calm, peaceful and very successful”.

She applauded President Museveni for always putting first love and caring for the lives of those in and out of armed forces.

The RDC further says once a soldier, “always remains a soldier since soldiers always contribute a lot to peace, security and stability of any serious democratic country like Uganda”.

Mr. Museveni’s assistant in the district expressed her deepest gratitude to the verified ex soldiers who contributed much to the armed and historical struggle for the liberation and stability of ‘our great nation’, urging them to set up “sustainable income generating activities once they receive the monies’.
