Many head coaches have come, done what they could and left. His predecessor, Mitcho Ssredovic, like Desabre, were all loved by players and fans (Ugandans) for what they did.
However, the pair, both of whom will be remembered for transforming Uganda Cranes, amidst low supports from Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) have all left in states of anguish.
After guiding Uganda Cranes to fine, and first time finish (last 16) in the ongoing AFCON’19 in Egypt since 1978, FUFA announced via their website Desabre has left.
“On the 6th of July 2019, both FUFA and the National Team Head coach, Mr. Desabre Sebastien Serge Louis mutually agreed to terminate the contract between the two parties,” the statement reads in part.
“The reasons for termination of the employment contract are for the benefit and growth of both parties.
“FUFA recognises the contribution by Mr. Desabre for the improvement of the sporting and professional organisation of the Uganda Cranes inclusive of qualification to the AFCON 2019 Finals and also to the Round of 16.”
FUFA further revealed that they will announce any development in due course, in regards to the new technical staff to handle the national team.
“FUFA will communicate any further development about the Uganda Cranes technical staff and future programmes of the National senior team in the nearest future.”
On December 28, 2017, Desabre joined the Uganda Cranes replacing Micho who had quit to join South Africa’s Orlando Pirates. Micho had complained against the Federation over non pay.
