Restore Leadership High School wins national debating championship

Restore Leadership Academy School in Amuru district emerged winner of the 2019 inter secondary school national debate championship organised by Writing Our World under the theme “Adolescence Health”.

Gabriel Nyero the debate patron Restore Leadership Academy said they managed to sail through because they had been conducting regular practice in the school by engaging every class in the weekly debate speaking, and in that it helped in building confidence in their speakers at the national level.

He advised parents and school authorities to encourage their children to embrace and  participate in debating event.

Brian Onen, one of the participants among the winning team of Restore expressed that they are very excited for being champions and applauds Nothern Uganda Debate Society for for training them that cost them to lift up the championship trophy in the country using the research and intensive training they had.

 Kakande Felix Rachkara, the Vice President  Northern Uganda Debate Society revealed that the road to championship for Restore Leadership Academy was not easy.

They played  a vital role in having an intensive training before the competition by doing research on topics of the different motions selected.

Polycarp Kalokwera,  the Public Relations Executive, Northern Uganda Debate Society said they had to train the team before as a preparation and to equip them to articulate the topic beyond reasonable doubt.

Restore Leadership Academy represented Northern Uganda sub and went through the final with Mary Hill High School and emerged the winer before the Parliament of Toro Chief,  Oyoo Nyimba.

Last year, Gulu University won the similar competition in the inter University championship.
