FUFA DRUM: Atiak Sugar donates Shs.50m to Acholi Province

The Paramount Chief of Acholi – Rwot David Onen Acana II has called on his tribesmen to rally behind Acholi province team in the second edition of FUFA drum tournaments.

Rwot Acana was speaking to players and technical team at his Palace at Laroo division in Gulu municipality on Saturday evening. 

According to Rwot Acana, many  people who are financially well don’t turn to support their team. 

He was reacting to Uganda shillings 50 million in support given by Atiak Sugar Factory Limited. 

He also blesses the team, saying they  should work hard and out perform last year’s position where they finished in the third position. 

Anthony Akera, acting Acholi province chairperson says they deemed the blessings of the paramount chief important in their quest to win this year’s edition of the fufa drum tournament. 

Last year,  Acholi province was awarded for being most fair team in the  tournament and received Uganda shillings 3 million.

In a related match played on Saturday, Lango Province team recorded a 1:0 defeat to Buganda, a match played in Mukono.

Besides the loss, Lango Province team, under legendary player, (coach), Denis Obua, outplayed hosts, with exciting visitor’s fans cheering the boys.

The match was attended by almost entire Lango leaders, from politicians, civil servants – with Dr. Richard Nam, Ker Tekwaro Lango premier, representing His Highness, Yosam Odur Ebii.
