A 24-year-old mother has been abandoned by her husband after producing twins with one diagnosed with heart complication.

Suzan Akol a resident of Ngora town council said she gave birth to twins in August this year through cesarean section at Ngora Fred Car Hospital.

According to her after being discharged, one of the twins called Odongo fell very sick and she took them back to Ngora Fred Car for treatment.

To Akol’s surprise, the doctors told her that the baby had a heart problem and should be taken to Uganda Heart Institute for proper medication.

Narrating her ordeal to our reporter, she said her husband Alfred Okurut – a resident of Ngora abandoned her for fear of shouldering the burden of treating the baby.

According to her his whereabouts is not known to her.

She admits that her relatives, too, have abandoned her because they are bitter that she dropped out of school yet they were committed to educating her.

The single mother now earns a living by begging from well-wishers who at times don’t behave positively to her plea for assistance.

Akol is now seeking financial support from leaders, charity organizations and government.

She said whoever wishes to help can reach her on cell phone number 0785096209 or 0788565658.
