Lira – Amuka Bright Stars FC on Sunday came from behind to clinch a second draw on home grounds this time against Mukono based Kyetuma FC on.

Playing at a fully packed Lira Primary school pitch, Amuka kept their fans confident and hoping for the best in the entire first half as players displayed skillful touches and came close to scoring a number of times, especially through their creative midfielders.

Their efforts didn’t pay though as first half ended 0-0 and coach Ssekito took the boys to the dressing room firmly, where he probably made a few corrections.

In the second half of the game, the boys even looked more determined but every time Kyetuma made a move forward, Amuka defenders were exposed and struggled to defend especially crosses from the right flank.

In about 75 minutes into the game, they were punished when Kyetuma FC striker, Godfrey Buni, had a powerful strike just outside the 18 yard box to ensure the visitors go ahead as he head the ball to the net past Amuka Bright Stars’ defenders and goal keeper.

As minutes slipped away, most fans started grumbling in fear of watching their beloved home side go down in the contest and as luck would have it, with only about 7 minutes to stoppage time, Amuka was awarded a penalty by referee Silas after a player was fouled in the box by Kyetuma goalkeeper.

Fans went wild into shouting and ululations as Bronson Nsubuga sent the keeper the wrong way and scored from the spot to level the game 1-1.

The second draw, all on the home ground now leaves Amuka with two points. Their opening match with Wakiso Giants ended in a 2-2 draw.
