New PPDA appeals tribunal member sworn in

On Monday, Her Worship Susan Abinyo, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Special Projects presided over the swearing in ceremony of Eng. Isanga Thomas Brookes as member of PPDA Appeals Tribunal.

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Appeals Tribunal handle a number of appeals from aggrieved bidders, giving the public procurement industry in Uganda a taste of justice.

At the ceremony, HW Abinyo called for high levels of integrity and good time management for the efficiency of the tribunal.

“The function you are undertaking calls for high levels of integrity, good time management so as not to let the tribunal down,” she emphasized.

She urged Eng. Isanga to work hard which will transcend into efficiency and effectiveness of handling matters of the tribunal.

The deputy registrar went on to administer Oath of Secrecy and Oath of Allegiance.

HW Abinyo handed Isanga a “start up kit” consisting of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, PPDA Act, Regulations for Public Procurement Proceedings as well as Regulations for Tribunal Proceedings.

The Chief Executive Officer and also Registrar of the Tribunal, Amos Kwizera, pledged to support the new member in the execution of his duties.

The Tribunal is established under Section 91B of the PPDA Act 2003. It started its business in 2014.
