Wanted footballer finally busted in Sweden

Finally busted: Mulyanti.

A footballer whom Uganda police has been searching for since 2014 has finally been located in Sweden.

Patrick Mulyanti, whose whereabouts had disillusioned the police’s Directorate of Interpol for now close to four years, was finally smoked out after one of the relatives of his partner registered a fresh complaint after reading two of the Sweden-based newspapers which revealed Mulyanti’s eminent deportation to Uganda.

“For us we are ready to arrest him from the Plane like we did Musician-cum politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine as soon as he lands at Entebbe airport. We will not this time give him chance to escape or mix with other people,” a police constable said on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

The officer said the news about Mulyanti’s eminent deportation is a great relief to them because his directorate has been under a lot of pressure especially from one Salongo Wasswa who filed the complaint and has been going around on radios and other media that Uganda police was full of failures who had failed to arrest a sworn Homosexual.

According to the reports from two Sweden newspapers; Aftonbladet Qx and www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/patrick, Swedish Authorities are ready to handover Mulyanti to Ugandan police so that he can face charges already awaiting him.

It is said Mulyanti who is in his 20s escaped to Sweden after police in his home area of Mengo and Wakiso intensified a hunt for him.

This was after it learnt that he had between 2012 and 2014 been engaging in homosexuality and recruiting a number into the vice.

He is alleged to have been recruited into this vice by fellow former SC Villa footballer Chris Mubiru Kisingiri who was in 2014 charged, convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment over the same vice.
