Gulu – The Kyandondo East Member of Parliament, Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s body guard was on Tuesday released on court bail.
Edward Sebuufu commonly known as Eddie Mutwe appeared before Gulu High Court’s resident Judge Stephen Mubiru who later released him and his co accused.
Mutwa whose love and support for Bobi Wine is absolute, was picked by security operatives from Semakokiro Plaza in Kamwokya on 25 August and was soon charged with treason.
He joins his boss –Bobi Wine and other MPs and dozens of ordinary Ugandans who were arrested by security operatives following the Arua municipality by-election disturbance in which President Museveni’s motorcade was allegedly stoned by opposition supporters.
State avers that Mutwe and his co- accused Musa Sseyanga on August 13 in Arua municipality used a grader to block President Museveni’s motorcade before it was pelted with stones.
Speaking to Journalists from Gulu High Court after his release, Mutwe vowed to fight for what is right.
“Even though i was isolated while in jail, it doesn’t mean I will stop fighting hard for people’s freedom. We are going to start from where we stopped,” he vowed.
Lawyer Tonny Kitara fought for their bail.
Mutwe and Sseyanga joined 33 people accused of the same offense. They will reappear in Court on 3 December, 2018.
