“A pig or goat won’t resist to be taken to the market for sale or slaughter just because the road is not tarmacked,” President Museveni says.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged the ruling party supporters not to wait for government support but rather start wealth creation by rearing animals.

Mr Museveni who’s also the national chairman of National Resistance Movement [NRM] party spoke about cohesion in his party and what plan it has for entire citizens.

He said this while campaigning for NRM MP flag-bearer for Kotido Municipality, Peter Abrahams Lokii and Mayoral candidate, Ismail Lomwa on Monday.

He says while some players are on the pitch, others are on the reserve bench waiting for substitution.

“About cohesion in the party, I want you to know that we are like a football team. While some players are on the pitch, others are on the reserve bench. If the ones on the pitch don’t play well, we shall get the substitutes at the next match. We must have discipline,” he says.

The NRM party chief added: “When I come to these rallies, it is because I want you to understand that the NRM is the party with a concrete plan for Uganda and we have a history of proof that we deliver on what we promise. It is therefore important that you support a tried and tested party.”

On wealth creation, Museveni urged the locals not to wait for government programmes to develop but start with a pig or goat.

“A pig or goat won’t resist to be taken to the market for sale or slaughter just because the road is not tarmacked,” he says.

President Museveni and other NRM party top leaders are canvassing for votes for their candidates in various new districts, municipalities and town councils across the country.

Likewise, opposition key leaders, among them Dr. Kizza Besigye, FDC Party President Patrick Amuriat Oboi, former party president Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu, Kyandondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine are campaigning for opposition contenders against NRM’s.
