Youth entrepreneurs undergo business training in Amuru

Amuru– More than thirty youths from Pagoro parish, Lamogi Sub County in Amuru district are undergoing three months business training in a bid aimed at elevating poverty through business.

The training is being conducted by Techno Serve, a nongovernmental organization working in Uganda.

Lamogi Sub County business counselor, Alice Auma says they are looking at equipping the youths with basic business skills including agribusiness, farming as a business among others.

Auma says the best participants will be drawn together in a business idea competition in Pabbo Town Council headquarters involving other participants from Amuru, Atiak, Pabbo and Lamogi Sub Counties where the best participant were awarded shs.900,000, Runner up shs.700,000 as well the heat female best performers as startup capital for their respective businesses.

Geoffrey Kilama, an apprentice hopes that after the training, he will open up a business and use the skills he is currently obtaining to manage his business.

Also, Mary Acan one of the participants who  has been selected to compete in the business competition says she is going to offer her best to be among the winners so she can open up a saloon business at Olwal trading center since it has a potential clients.
