The Born Again Faith Federation in eastern Uganda is set to embark on sensitizing the communities in Bugisu Sub-region on the dangers of early child marriages and teenage pregnancies.

This follows an outcry on the increasing cases of early child marriages, teenage pregnancies and school dropout among other challenges in the Sub-region.

David Musana, the federation secretary who represented Pastor Joseph Serwadda says they are going to use various churches as a platform to sensitize natives on the dangers of early marriages.

Musana made the promise Thursday while talking to communities about dangers of early child marriages.

The different communities were also sensitized on how to handle rape cases; shun prostitution and to avoid acquiring HIV/AIDS.

He also revealed to this news website that the churches under the coalition are currently educating communities in the entire eastern region on gender and sexual education.

“We have been undertaking such government program, integrating sexual reproductive health issue into Church program and just as the case has been, even today we are here to preach about youth productive issues,” Musana added.

Peter Wanambwa one of the concerned parents appealed to fellow parents to speak to their children on sex education.
