Four Lira NRM cadres eat big in new RDC Reshuffle

Auma Linda Agness, the new Amuru RDC.

Four senior National Resistance Movement (NRM) party carders from Lira district have all the reasons to smile after three years of anguish and frustration following the 2016 general elections.

The quartet is among more than 100 people appointed into the positions of Resident District Commissioners, and interestingly all of them will work within Lango Sub Region.

Egole Lawrence (2nd from left) and newly appointed Otuke RDC Abak (R) solving UTC Lira land issue last year.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed and reshuffled the Resident District Commissioners and their deputies in a statement released by State House on Friday afternoon.

The quartet includes Linda Agnes Auma, the newly appointed Resident District Commissioner of Amuru who contested for Lira District Woman MP seat but lost miserably to UPC’s Joy Atim Ongom.

Auma, according to sources was tipped to win the 2016 poll race as she was campaigning under the slogan of restocking but….. President Museveni’s statement at Lira Mayors garden during his last rally for Lango Sub region that government would compensate the people in the subsequent financial year, salted Auma’s reputation.

Auma has been a prominent figure in the compensation for Lango war claimants under Bashasha and Company advocates.

Linda Agnes Auma

Another cadre that has eaten big is Lawrence Egole who has been appointed the RDC of dokolo to replace Susan Akany who has been transferred to Omoro district.

Egole served as the Vice chairperson of NRM for Lira district for two years and has been perennial supporter of NRM in Lira district. Most people in the opposition like Egole’s calmness to approach issues and they say he is intelligent and aims at getting results.

He was also amongst those in the national campaign task force for President Museveni in 2016 and preceding years.

Lillian Eyal who is a close associate of NRM’s vice chairperson for Northern Uganda, Sam Engola is also in things.

Eyal Lillian

Eyal has been appointed the Resident District Commissioner of Amolatar to replace long serving RDC, Cannon Richard Ogwang Odyero was has been appointed the RDC of Buyende district.

Lillian Eyal contested with Linda Auma to carry NRM’s flag but lost. Eyal also served in the local government as Sub County chief for nearly 10 years before being elevated to the position of Senior Assistant Secretary Lira district.

She has a wealth of experience in local government issues.

Josephine Omara Olili is another happy woman. The NRM flag bearer for Erute County North has also been appointed RDC for Alebtong to replace the embattled Andrew Moses Awany. Omara served in State House as an accounts assistant for years.

Most political pundits say Awany’s problem emanated from the fall of Rebecca Amuge Otengo as MP for Moroto County and the recent chaos between the National Forestry Authority (NFA) and the residents of Apala over Etur Forest Reserve, something he failed to settle.

In the same reorder, Robert Abak has been transferred from Lira to Otuke where he served in his first appointment as RDC in 2013. Mwaka Emmanuel Lutukomoi has been appointed RDC Lira even when he currently lives in the United States of America (USA).

Agness Akello Ebong has been transferred from Kole to Apac district; her ancestral district while Gillian Akullu will remain in Oyam district as RDC.
