Head-teacher, Account Assistant Released on Police Bond


GULU- The head-teacher of Gulu senior secondary school Mr. Apire Michael and his former bursar were released on Friday on Police bond.

Ocaka Eric who is now an account assistant in Omoro district and Apire were arrested on allegation of abuse of office and embezzlement of school funds.

The duo were arrested last week and detained at Gulu Central police station.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa region police spokesman said Apire and his friend were released after the latter was admitted at Gulu regional referral hospital in a ‘very bad’ condition.

“The head-teacher was in bad health condition and we had to release two of them on bond,” Okema told this news website on Monday.

Similarly, Okema says Ocaka James who’s the Gulu District Forrest Officer (DFO) and assistant Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Gulu were also released on Police bond following their arrest last week on allegation of bribery, abuse of office after trucks held for carrying illegal logs went missing from Gulu district headquarters.
