Arua Sunday Demo: One dead, three admitted

Vincent Acidri, an 18-year-old, who sustained injuries during a chaos in Arua town on Sunday, is dead.

Acidri, a resident of Osu village in Arua Municipality passed on after an operation in Arua Hospital on Monday morning.

According to Doctors, Acidri’s liver was ruptured after he was shot at, at Anyafio village where angry youths were demonstrating, shortly after the arrival of the body of slain MP. Col. Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother Saidi Kongo Butele.

Dr Alex Adaku, the acting Hospital Director of Arua Hospital says Acidri died despite of the live saving efforts put in by doctors.

According to the hospital director, three other victims namely Obiru Betty, Asiku Tualib and Amati Gideon are still being attended to and need immediate medical attention.

The mother of the deceased Margaret Kubeba says her late son has been the only boy fending for the home by selling ice cream.

The deceased who incidentally hails from Rhino Camp is also expected to be buried within the same parish where the late Abiriga and his brother Sgt. Saidi Kongo Butele was buried on Monday.
