President Museveni has mourned killed Arua Municipality MP, Col. Ibrahim Abiriga after he was shot dead alongside his bodyguard on Friday evening.
In his message released few hours after the gruesome killing, Museveni, urged Ugandan that the urban criminality will be handled.
“I have received news about the senseless killing of Arua Municipality MP, Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga, and his bodyguard on the outskirts of Kampala this evening. I have tasked security agencies to expeditiously find these killers and the nation will be updated soon. This urban criminality is going to stop. May Hon. Abiriga’s soul rest in peace,” President Museveni said.
Similarly, Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga said Justice must prevail for Abiriga and his bodyguard.
Rebecca Kadaga described dead Abiriga as calm and full of joy leader Uganda will greatly miss.
Abiriga was shot dead at Nabweru, Kawanda in Wakiso district while heading to his home.
In early 2017, the then Police Spokesperson, AIGP Andrew Felix Kawesi was gunned down alongside his bodyguard and driver.
Kawesi was leaving his home in Kulambiro, outskirt of Kampala for work when unknown gunmen gunned them down.
