Amuru woman strangles co-wife`s child

AMURU– Police in Amuruis holding a- 28- year- old woman identified as Innocent Aloyo for strangling 8 –year- old, a daughter to her co wife as identified as Beatrice Angee after a domestic dispute.

The incident happened in Labongo village, Pagak Parish Amuru Sub County at around 5 pmon Wednesday 23rd of May 2018.

According to the councilor three,Pagak Parish in Amuru sub county council Richard Nyeko, Aloyo had a misunderstanding with Angee on Tuesday 22nd of May in the absence of their husband Robert Bongomin.

Nyeko says, Aloyo took advantage of the absence of both Angee and Bongomin at home that day to commit the crime before attempting to flee to South Sudan but was arrested while in Owor, Patiko Sub County, Gulu district.

Nyeko cautions the locals of Amuru Sub County against extending their anger or misunderstandings to children whom he says are innocent.

“In Amuru Sub County, we have many problems related to land wrangles and as a result, there are many misunderstandings, disputes among others. My appeal to the locals of Amuru Sub County is not turn their anger on children,” Nyeko says.

Amuru District Police Commander Emmanuel Bwambale confirmed the arrest of Aloyo saying upon completion of investigations, she will be charged with murder.

“It is true last evening, we arrested Aloyo from Owor in Patiko Sub-county, Gulu district after she attempted to escape to South Sudan. That was after strangling a minor following a domestic dispute from her marital home in Labongo village. She is in our custody at Amuru Central Police Station,” Bwambale said.
