Death has robbed Amolatar district local government of Gabriel Akuguzi. He was the deputy Chief Administrative Officer (D-CAO).

Akugizi is among five other people who died instantly on Saturday night when a taxi they were traveling in rammed into a trailer along Gulu -Kampala highway.

Akugizi had only worked in Amolatar district for six months following his promotional transfer last year from Kiryandongo Town Council as a Town Clerk.

His friends say the deceased and other civil servants from Amolatar were in Soroti district for a seminar and they left on Saturday.

Joel Okao Tema, the Amolatar district Information Officer told TND News that Akugizi’s body was not easily identified when it was taken to the mortuary at Kiryandongo hospital.

“They then realized he was an employee of Amolatar district local government and they then called the district Heath officer who identified him,” Tema said.
