Police investigates Lira Lodge death

Police in Lira are investigating circumstances under which a man was found dead inside a prominent lodge, Blue Valley Lodge located on Olwol road, Ojwina division in Lira Municipality.

The deceased body has been identified by Police as Ogwang Kizito, a resident of Alolololo parish, Omoro Sub-county in Alebtong District.

According to Police, Ogwang was found dead on Saturday evening in Blue Valley Lodge.

North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson David Ongom Mudong said teams from Police Crime of Scene Officer alongside the Homicide recovered a mobile phone, national ID, medication tablets belonging to the deceased and used condoms.

“Circumstances surrounding his death are not yet clear since the postmortem has not yet been done although the body is already at the main Hospital’s mortuary,” Mudong told TND News.

He added that as investigation into the matter goes on, relatives of the deceased has been notified.

He added: “No arrest has been made to this effect however a case of sudden death is registered at Lira Central Police Station homicide department and the management of Blue Valley Lodge has so far recorded statements.”
