Onduparaka FC fails to raise Shs3.5 million to reach Gulu

GULU– The Sunday friendly match between fourth division side Gulu United and Azam Uganda Premier league side Onduparaka FC has been called off.

According to Gulu United Coach Geoffrey Akena, they received a letter from the Secretary of Onduaraka FC revealing they could not afford transport cost.

Akena told TND News on Saturday that they were planning to date another Azam Uganda premier league club to play.

“We want to revive this club and friendly matches are one way,” Akena said.

In his letter, the Onduparaka FC Public Relation Officers Adams Lematia Otelul confirmed calling off.

“Following the previous discussions about the friendly encounter between Onduparaka and Gulu side, I woukld like to send my apologies for not making it due to mechanical conditions of the Coaster the team was supposed to use,” his letter to Gulu United coach reads.

The letter further reads: “We had opted to hire another car since this game would mean a lot to the team and fans at large, it also became harder when the bus services were charged highly beyond the club budget

Gulu United was supposed to welcome the Arua based side on Sunday 20. 05 .2018 at 4Pm at Pece stadium.
