Police investigates motive of one person possessing 39 ATM Cards

Police in Lira has started investigations into the motive behind a suspect still at large, possessing 39 ATM cards for different banks and different persons.

North Kyoga police spokesperson David Ongom Mudong told TND News that the suspect Bosco Akwar currently on the run is suspected to have been conning several people of their valuables.

According to Ongom Mudong, Akwar from Yer Sub County in Kole District conned one Leo Ocheng of Shs. 5Million using fake dollars and diamond mineral from within Lira Bus Park.

“After the case was reported to CPS- Lira, police tracked Bosco, located his home but he was not within. A search was conducted at his house in the presence of his father, mother, wife and the Police,” Ongom Mudong said.

“After a search, 39 ATM cards for different banks and for different persons were recovered, four National Identity cards (IDs), a driving permit and three institutional IDs were also recovered. The motive why the suspect was in possession of all these ATMs and IDs still remains unclear,” Mudong added.

Ongom Mudong cautioned the public to be vigilant against fraudsters especially those who claim to give assistance from within the banks especially around ATM points.

Police named 15 persons that lost their ATM cards and Identity cards to check with Lira central police station to find out if what police recovered belongs to them.

The following persons listed below and others who lost their ATMs and IDs were advised to check with CPS- Lira Records:

Okello Edward, Mary Akech, Bosco Okullo,Hellen Asio,Thembo Ngelese, Apilli Hellen, Okurut Joseph, Adong Susan, Rose Kajumba, Eguma Moses, Adam Abdul Aziz, Kaboobi John,Muvunyi Charles,Wanjala Sulaiman and Droti Philli among others.
