Dokolo Technical Institute has emerged champions for national vocational school games (NVSG) for the year 2018.
The government aided technical school was pronounced champions on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sports pundits, Dokolo Technical school deserved being crowned this year’s winners.
Dokol Technical emerged winners in both boys and girl’s categories, taking back home trophies and gold medals.
Second position went to Bobi Community Polytechnic in Omoro district followed by Omugu Technical hailing from West-Nile who came third.
Omoro district’s Bobi Community Polytechnic School hosted this year’s tournament.
Among games competed for included; football, netball, volleyball, among others.
Ben Kwamoi, the chairperson organizing committee said that out of the expected 39 technical schools in Uganda, only 28 registered and participated in this year’s national vocational school games competitions.
“This was the 6th edition funded by the government of Uganda in order to promote co-curricular activities in technical schools in Uganda,” Kwamoi told journalists at the closure on Thursday.
State Minister for Northern Uganda, Hon. Minister Freedom Grace Kweyocwiny who was the Chief Guest said government of Uganda and Ministry of Education and Sports has come out with strategies to support technical and vocational schools games annually in order to build the talent of feature generation.
