Law Development Center on Monday graduated 32 administrative officers from Gulu.
The 32 officers made it with an overall good performance out of 50 students who enrolled.
The 12 weeks course redeemed the officers an award of certificate.
According to Odong George, the center coordinator, he says this is a good opportunity for them.
“Northerners no longer go up to Kampala to enroll,” he says.
He however urged the officers to value the knowledge they have acquired and to practice it in line with what they do in their respective offices.
He added that the graduation is not the first of its kind.
So far, 400 people have acquired certificate in administrative law from Gulu center in the previous years.
Odong William George the graduands representative said “the course will enhance their capacity to do better in making decision based on law, avoid legal mitigation and have personal knowledge on how to protect themselves and the people they serve”.
Lakigozi Mary, acting academic registrar said they have trained these officers both on administrative and criminal law.
“Law is embedded in our daily lives therefore it means we have to have a law abiding society,” she explains.
She however assured the officers to advance for diploma and bachelor degrees in law because certificate alone is not enough.
The training is always conducted from Gulu senior secondary school in Gulu municipality.
